We have won a Gold Award for our food at The Old Vicarage and as Slow Food members we are very proud to serve wonderful local produce from a wide range of local food producers: free range eggs from happy border hens to kippers smoked in the age old smoke house at Seahouses, just down the coast. All of our food is freshly prepared – home cooking at its very best.


 Our breakfasts are a leisurely affair and each choice is freshly cooked in the morning, so we do hope you will leave yourself enough time to relax and enjoy it all. We do ask you to fill in your breakfast choice the evening before – don’t despair, though, should you change your mind the following morning, you can do so! Breakfast is usually served in the breakfast room, however it can also be served in your room or in our garden (on those sunny mornings). If you wish to have breakfast in your room, please do let us know the evening before.


Some of our breakfast choices  

* Traditional Breakfast with grilled home-cured bacon, succulent sausage, juicy tomatoes and buttery portabella mushrooms
* Delicious Smoked Haddock with lightly poached free range egg
* Buttery Kippers with fluffy scrambled eggs and wholemeal bread
* Vicar’s Porridge - slow cooked creamy porridge with honey, brown sugar, cream and whiskey or Lindisfarne Mead. Served  in summer with fresh fruit and in winter with warmed plums


 Our Suppers  are available on request and served in our spacious candle-lit dining room.  Our 4 course inclusive menu offers you a choice of lovely home cooked dishes and begins with delicious canapés served in the drawing room. This is particularly lovely on those colder evenings when the fire is lit and the curtains closed!  On warm sunny evenings, you can sit and relax in our lovely garden prior to dinner.  We are fully licensed and  offer a selection of fine wines and local ales.
Our Food Platters   are a lovely way to relax and eat in the privacy of your room. Choose from our Fish Platter – hot smoked salmon / smoked mackerel / smoked salmon pate / prawns / crab ; our Cheese Platter with local Doddington Cheeses served with fruit chutney; our Meat Platter – locally cured chorizo / honey cured ham / pates. All our platters are served with delicious Northumberland breads. Why not pre-order one and it will be in your room on arrival !
